Research for Ancillary Products- previous student analysis.

So today in class we were looking at digipaks and adverts from the previous year, here is one that i think is amazing, and one that i think isn't as effective.

I think this advert and digipak look really professional, the pictures look simple but effective, they and the colour scheme establish the artist and the genre of the music. The font is simple and easy to read, and they have included a barcode, production label, name of artist and album, and have arranged all the text in a way that enhances the pictures and looks really professional. It has given me some inspiration for my own group's Digipak and advert because it seems like this type of digipak would suit our style of music and artist.

In comparison, this digipak is far too bright and busy, there is too much to focus on so in the end it just looks confusing. The colours used are really bright and harsh and it makes the text really hard to read, as well as taking the focus away from the artist. The pictures look really simple and it is clear they were shot in college, which isn't the most imaginative location. The advertisement isn't very clear; you can't see the text at all because of the colours and small unclear font.
